What are the symptoms of the disease?
Early complaints:
-
Constantly changing eye numbers,
-
Progressing myopia and astigmatism,
-
Low sight despite glasses,
-
Different glasses prescriptions received from different doctors.
Many of the patients in this period can be diagnosed with special keratographic (topographic) tests. The long-term allergic conjunctivitis, constantly rubbing the eyes and keratoconus in family members are the causes to be taken into consideration.
A part of the patients at a very early period may consult an eye doctor only to recover their complaints about myopia or astigmatism. Keratoconus may be diagnosed with the topographical examinations performed. Due to cornea becomes thin further following the excimer laser operations performed without detailed examination of these tests, the keratoconus disease may progress further.
