What are the reasons of Presbyopia?

As the object in the distance approaches, a signal getting through the brain is evaluated and transmitted to the eye. On this region which is called “corpus ciliare” along with muscles contract and loosen, fibers related to that tighten or loosen. This motion of fibers causes lens to increase its refractivity by getting thinner or getting plump. We lose this ability subject to age. Although it has not been proved yet, the most recent theory concerning loss of this ability of us depending on the age is cell aging theory. According to theory, as hairs go grey depending upon age, eye cells also lose this ability. Therefore, it is evaluated as a physiological senility, but not a pathological problem. Presbyopia normatively increases in every person by years. It grows +1 number decennial after the age of 40. It becomes grown +2 in the age of 50, and +3 in the age of 60. However, we encounter an interesting circumstance. For instance, if your eye is -2, then +1 is added to that as in the age of 40. In this case, you need -1 to be able to see near. When in the age of 50, although you need -2 for distant, there will be no need for a close-glasses. Therefore, the reason of that the patients who are both myopic and also arguing ‘I can see near so well’ cannot see the near is that two disorders overlap and it creates a defect detractive effect.
